Do You Want to Review Books?

We feature our editor recommendations in our Book Reviews page as well as in our Off the Press newsletter, and are looking for a limited number of new freelance writers interested in submitting reviews of their favorite books by new authors.

We only accept book recommendations (no negative reviews, new authors have a hard enough time getting noticed), however we don't expect our reviewers to write about books they didn't like.

Also, please note that we are not looking for one-paragraph reviews that sound like a cover blurb. We expect our reviewers to take their time and give us specific details about the story and what they did and din't like about the book. We are not looking for reviews under 350 words.

We pay $5 per review.

Articles on Marketing, Publishing and Writing

We are looking for articles on marketing a book, publishing, and the craft of writing for our Advice for Authors and Writers page. We prefer that these articles offer specific action items, and would rather that they didn't take on the format of a "personal" essay. For obvious reasons, these articles must be written by industry professionals, and we cannot take articles about marketing a book from unpbublished authors, for example. We do accept interviews as articles, where unpublished freelance writers may interview industry professionals.

We pay $5 per article.

Author Interviews

We are looking for interviews with traditionall published authors for our Author Interviews page. We prefer that these interviews include some questions about how the authors got their start in publishing. We do accept interviews written by first-time freelance writers.

We pay $5 per interview.
